Cleaning Your Carpets If You Have PetsYour four-legged friends probably mean the world to you, but if you have pets in your home then you probably understand how difficult it can sometimes be to keep your carpets looking clean and smelling fresh! Luckily for you, there are lots of things that you can do to keep your home looking just how it deserves to!1)    Keep a towel or pet mat near your front and back doors.Keeping a towel to hand is a great way to keep muddy or wet paws off your clean carpets! Wipe your pet’s paws down when they come home and you won’t have to risk staining your carpets. 2)    Ensure you have the right cleaning products. There are lots of cleaning products available that are ideal for pet owners. Whether you need a urine destroyer if you have a puppy or if you need a magnetic hair brush for your shedding cat, there are plenty of items on the market that can help to keep your carpets looking their best. Don’t just try your supermarket for cleaning products like these – go to a pet store or shop online to find whatever it is you need for your carpets! Whenever you use a carpet product, test is on a small and barely-visible area first to ensure it’s not going to damage your floors. 3)    Using a carpet cleaner. No matter how many times you vacuum your carpets, it can be difficult to keep germs at bay if you have a pet in your home. A carpet cleaner, however, can clean deep into the fibres of your carpet to remove stains, grime and bacteria that might otherwise be impossible to reach. As soon as you see a stain use a warm and damp sponge to blot at it gently. Boiling water can help to set the stain, so never use this. Once the area is damp use a carpet cleaning agent and blot at the stain again, before using clean warm water to dab the product away. 5)    Keeping your pets clean. This sounds like an obvious tip, but keeping your pets clean in instrumental for a clean home. Bathe, brush and groom your animals regularly to stop shedding hair, unpleasant odours and stains and marks on your carpets!
